Me and Earl and the dying girl

Is a romantic comedy film about a high schooler Greg, who spends most of his time making parodies of classic movies with his co-worker Earl, finds his outlook forever altered after befriending a classmate who has just been diagnosed with cancer.

The film was produced by the production company Indian paintbrush and there were quite a few distributers but to name a few there was, 20th century fox, Fox searchlight pictures and Warner Bros.

The film had an estimated budget of $8,000,000, and grossed $364,039 in the USA following its release date on the 4th September 2015.
The film focuses on the teenager Greg who doesn’t fit in at school and tries to re-ignite a friendship he used to have with his childhood friend Rachael who has become very ill. Throughout the film we see emphasis on the strong bonds and friendships the teenagers have when life gets tough.

There are many mid shots of both the male and female character looking at one another when the other doesn’t know. This is a typical romantic comedy shot.Another typical shot seen in romantic comedies is the close up/extreme close ups of the main protagonists faces. These shots are used a lot as they clearly tell the audience what the characters are feeling and highlights there facial expressions when they are reacting to something someone has said
